The following describes a selection of projects that JSM has worked on and represents both current and past projects.



Project Categories
  • Acquisition of a site for development of 22,000 sq.ft. of trade park units on London Road Glasgow. JSM is acting in conjunction with Karis Development Company Ltd in the development of the site. Phase 1 now fully let. Phase 2 is 8,000 sq ft.
  • Managing a specialist design team on behalf of SEG for the reclamation of 7 acres of derelict industrial land in the East End of Glasgow including the acquisition and assembly of the site from several owners. This is now complete with most of the site developed with new industrial units.
  • Advising Barry D Trentham Ltd in the development of a 10,000 sq.ft. unit on a site at East Mains Industrial Estate Broxburn for MAN Trucks Ltd.
Balgonie Estates, Kelso


  • Acquisition of a 5-acre industrial investment on behalf of Scottish Capital Group in Ayr for redevelopment into residential and employment uses.
  • Advising Kerr Homes in the acquisition of a 48 acre residential site in Lanark.
  • Acting with a Luxemburg bank to examine the prospects for market rented housing within Edinburgh.
  • Acting as project co-ordinator for the design and construction of 7 large detached houses in Kelso for Balgonie Estates.
  • Managing a specialised design team on behalf of SEG/GCC in the acquisition, assembly and receipt of planning consent for a change of use of a 13 acre derelict site together with the reclamation of it to form a site for 120 new houses. This is now completed.
  • Working in conjunction with Braemar Homes in the acquisition of two sites in East Lothian for residential development at Inveresk Village and Musselburgh. Both had previous uses, now redundant and required negotiation with the planners for a change of use. These sites were subsequently sold to CALA and Gleeson Homes.
  • Advising Barry D Trentham Ltd in the acquisition, design and obtaining of planning consent for 5 luxury flats in Brunswick Street Edinburgh.

  • Advising Scottish Capital Group in the acquisition and refurbishment of approximately 40,000 sq.ft. of grade A listed offices on the corner of St Andrew Square Edinburgh. This is now complete and let to tenants including Scottish & Newcastle Breweries and Royal Bank of Scotland. An adjacent site was sold to National Westminster Bank for its new Edinburgh office.
  • Advising Scottish Capital Group and Gleeson Developments Ltd on the acquisition of an existing office building on the corner of Waterloo Street and Blyswood Street for refurbishment and extension to form circa 100,000 sq.ft. of new office space. This is now complete and substantially let.
Scottish Capital Group, Edinburgh
  • Acting for Delyn Group Plc/Gleeson Developments Ltd in the acquisition of a site in Hamilton for an 80,000 sq.ft. Retail park. This site has now been sold to Morrison Plc for a supermarket that is now built and trading.
  • In conjunction with a major Scottish based developer, negotiating for a 50,000 sq.ft. shopping-centre in central Scotland.
  • Advising Randolph Hill Group Ltd in the acquisition of a site within Edinburgh for a nursing home.
  • Advising Glasgow Zoo on the disposal of surplus land including the sale of a 3 acre site to SEG and thereafter acting for them in the sale to Whitbread for a Beefeater restaurant and Travel Lodge.
  • Acting on behalf of Bannatyne Health a fitness in the acquisition of 2 sites in Dumfries and Glasgow (Stepps.)
  • In conjunction with Amco Developments Ltd, the construction of a 200 apartment aparthotel in Edinburgh.
  • In conjunction with Seaforth Developments Ltd the development of 2, 4 star hotels in Scotland.
  • Advising Whitbread Plc on several sites in Scotland for their Premier Inn Hotel brand.
  • In conjunction with Amco Developments examining the possibility of a 4 star hotel in northern Scotland
